Hood River, Oregon: A Gem For Family Travel

We are excitedly planning Christmas for our family 4. Babies (now toddlers!) are 1 & 3. This year we wanted to spend a quiet holiday with the 4 of us, surrounded by the beauty of nature, warmth, and maybe some snow.

It’s the first year our older son is aware and excited about what Christmas is. So we planned the ultimate Christmas experience with the Mt Hood Polar Express train.

We found a beautiful and toddler safe vacation rental with a hot tub for after us after bedtime. Tehir listing included a bby gate and cabinet latches so it was an easy. That made our babyg ear needs minimal. From the Travel Breasy collection we brought the Guava Travel Crib, Ingenico travel chair, and a small box of toys & books for each.

Outside of the holiday season a favorite is the Hood River Fruit Loop. With 2 small toddlers for us the loop just means we pick 1, maybe 2 places to stop, and call it good! 2 of our favorites are Montavon’s Berries because it’s small and simple (no crowds). For a bigger, more commercial experience, the Gorge White House is nice because they have a restaurant, beer & wine, and u-pick flowers (plus the fruit).

Just outside of Hood River for us as adults, is a stop at the Society Hotel spa & bathhouse. We stayed at their hotel once, and other visits have pre-booked the spa pass. We take turns giving each other a relaxation break, while one stays in the smaller pool with the babies.
